Will You Walk Away?

As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in truth and to speak truth in love. When the truth
you walk in and speak to others creates conflict, or separates you from relationships, will you continue to
follow Jesus?

(John 6:60-71)

I. The Shallow (v.60)
A. Can’t digest it. (v.60a)
B. Can’t discern it. (v.60b)
C. Can’t disciple others with it. (v.60c)

II. The Savior (v. 61-67)
A. Summarizes their distress. (v.61-62)
B. States four declarations. (v.63)
1). Holy Spirit alone gives eternal life! (v.63a)
2). Human effort accomplishes nothing! (v.63b)
3). He (Jesus) speaks spirit and life! (v.63c-64)
4). Heavenly Father draws people to Christ alone! (v.65)

C. Sees their desertion. (v.66)

III. The Saved (v.67-71)
A. Turns to Jesus Christ alone! (v.67-68)
B. Trusts Jesus Christ alone! (v.69a)
C. Testify to Jesus Christ alone! (v.69b)
1). Judas turns from Jesus. (v.70)
2). Jesus tally’s the cost for walking away. (v.71)
