Division & Unbelief 

Division and unbelief are immiscible with unity and belief.  Therefore, genuine harmony and trust are impossible without the emulsification of the Holy Spirit.

John 7:40-53  

 

  1. The Crowds are Divided. (v.7:40-44) 
  1. He’s the Prophet! (v.7:40) 
  1. He’s the Promised Messiah! (v.7:41a) 
  1. He’s a Phony? (v.7:41b-44) 

 

  1. The Pharisees are Delusional. (v.7:45-49) 
  1. Their Rage (v.7:45) 
  1. The Response (v.7:46) 
  1. Their Ridicule (v.7:47a) 

1). They accuse the guards of straying. (v.7:47b-48) 

2). The accuse the crowds of being stupid. (v.7:49a) 

3). They assume the crowds are sentenced to destruction. (v.7:49b)

  1. Nicodemus’ Suggestion: Resist judgement and do due diligence. (v.7:50-51) 
  1. Their Sarcastic Response: Are you stupid too? (v.7:52)
