The branches are still fresh on the ground.
Some trampled.
Some drying out.
Echoes of Hosanna still hanging in the air like yesterday’s song.
But Jesus doesn’t look back at the parade. He heads straight to the temple.
Because the King who rode in with a view to a kill…
now walks in with a view to reveal.
He’s not chasing their praise. He’s confronting reality.
Broken Tables – The Cleansing of False Worship
He steps into the temple… and it’s loud again.
But this time—it’s not praise.
Coins are clinking.
Animals are moving.
Deals are being made where prayer was supposed to rise to heaven.
And in a moment—everything flips.
Tables crash.
Money scatters.
Control is exposed.
Because what looked like worship…was just business dressed up as religion.
Palm Sunday said, “We honor You.”
Monday reveals, “But we still want control.”
And Jesus will not share space with that. “My house will be called a house of prayer…”
In other words: “You brought Me noise. I’m after nearness.”
Beautiful Children – The Celebration of Faithful Praise
And then… in the middle of the chaos…
a different sound rises.
Children singing, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”
Not counterfeit like the crowd—
but clear.
Not emotional hype— but honest worship.
They’re not playing the moment.
They’re seeing King Jesus.
And the leaders hate it.
Because children don’t filter truth.
They don’t manage image.
They don’t protect position.
They just… respond to the truth.
And Jesus receives it.
Because this is what He heard on Sunday—
even when the crowd didn’t mean it.
Jesus always knows the difference.
Barren Tree – The Condemnation of False Fruit
And then… the tree.
Full of leaves. Alive from a distance.
Promising something it doesn’t have.
Jesus walks up close. Nothing. So, He speaks—and it withers.
Because what looks alive to us… is empty to Him.
Because this week is not about appearances.
It’s about truth.
That tree looked alive…
just like the temple.
Just like the crowd.
Just like all of us can, if we’re not careful.
Leaves are easy.
Fruit is costly.
Leaves say: “I’m around spiritual things.”
Fruit says: “I’ve been changed by Him.”
Palm Sunday was full of leaves.
Monday asks: “Where’s the fruit?”
Benediction
The tables have been overturned.
The tree has withered.
And still… the voices of children rise.
Because the King who rode in on Sunday…
came to do more than be praised.
He came to make you real.
So today, let Him ask you:
What tables need to fall?
Is there worship in your life that looks alive… but isn’t?
Are there leaves… hiding a lack of fruit?
Or will you come to Him like a child— honest, surrendered, and full of praise?
Because Jesus is not after crowds. He’s after hearts.
And He loves you enough…
to flip whatever stands in the way.
