There’s a quiet tragedy in the Christian life.

Not rebellion.
Not rejection.
But hesitation.

A life that believes in Jesus…
but never fully trusts Him.

That was Nicodemus once.

He came to Jesus at night—curious, cautious, concealed.
But by John 19, something changes him.

Now he walks boldly into the daylight carrying 75 pounds of burial spices.

That’s not convenience—that’s commitment.
That’s not merely interest—that’s humble surrender.

What happened?

He saw Jesus on the cross.

And once you truly see Christ crucified—
not just with your eyes, but with your soul—
you can’t go back to living your life halfway.

The cross of Christ has a way of exposing what we tend to cling to:
• Comfort over calling
• Approval over obedience
• Control over surrender

And it asks a question we can’t dodge:

Is Jesus worth everything—or just some things?

Joseph gave his tomb.
Nicodemus gave his wealth.
Both gave their reputations.

Because love that has been touched by Jesus doesn’t measure cost—it steps out in
faith.

And here’s the truth friend:

The things you’re holding onto…the things you’re afraid to surrender…are often the very
things stealing your joy.

Jesus didn’t rise so you could manage your life. He rose so you could live it—free, full,
and fearless.

So today, I encourage you to:

Step out of the shadows.
Lay it down.
Follow Him fully.

Because the tomb is empty…and your life doesn’t have to stay buried either.
