Key Point: The outcome of abiding in Christ is a joy that endures sorrow and results in peace that cannot be taken.
We live in a world that celebrates control, but Jesus calls us to release it.
He told His disciples, “In a little while you will not see Me… and again a little while, and you will see Me.”
Confusion swirled around their hearts. They couldn’t see how loss could lead to joy — how the cross could ever become glory.
Then Jesus gave them an image: a woman in labor.
Pain that feels endless, groaning that feels unbearable — yet the moment the child is born, anguish gives way to awe. Sorrow transforms into song.
That is some resurrection language right there!
Peace isn’t found in escaping pain — it’s found in enduring with purpose.
Joy isn’t the denial of sorrow — it’s the defiance of it.
Amy on the pier knew this truth. Cancer couldn’t rob her peace because her heart was anchored in eternity. She wasn’t holding on to this life — she was held by the Author of Life Himself.
When you are in Christ, your peace is not circumstantial — it’s relational.
Your joy isn’t momentary — it’s resurrectional.
